Safety Village Summer Program is Back for Incoming Kindergartners
The popular Lakota Safety Village for incoming kindergartners is back!
Safety Village is a free drop-off summer program for incoming kindergartners (must be starting in the fall of 2025) of West Chester Township and Liberty Township. The program is hosted by the West Chester Police Department and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Divisions and will be held at Freedom Elementary School.
Students learn introductory safety lessons including stranger danger, fire safety, road signs, school bus safety and more. Students also get to practice their safety skills driving their own pedal car.
All lessons are taught by West Chester Police Officers, BCSO Deputies, firefighters and Lakota school bus drivers.
Enroll now in one of the eight weekly summer sessions to get your child kindergarten ready. The five-day sessions are limited to 20 students and are held almost every week beginning June 2 through July 28. Both morning (8-10 a.m.) and afternoon (noon - 2 p.m.) sessions are available.
At the end of the week, parents will get the opportunity to observe their student driving pedal cars and participating in the Safety Village graduation.
