First-Ever ‘WE Love Lakota’ Heart Hunt Ends March 5

This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating the many places and partners that form the heartbeat of our school community. Parents, students, staff and community members are invited to join in on the first-ever “WE Love Lakota Heart Hunt.” 

“We’re excited to organize a fun way to celebrate the organizations and businesses that help make our schools stronger and make the heart of our community whole,” said Lakota Superintendent & CEO Ashley Whitely. “We hope you’ll not only frequent the places on our hunt, but also take the opportunity to learn more about them.” 

Beginning Feb. 14, look for daily clues on Lakota’s Facebook page and Instagram stories. These clues will also be documented below as they are shared. Each clue will lead participants to a different location in our community. Visit this spot at any time for the duration of the hunt to find a rock that has been hand painted by a Lakota student artist, compliments of Ridge Junior School’s art club. 

Each rock will display a different letter. At the end of the month, unscramble all the letters to reveal a mystery message. Finally, beginning Feb. 28, be on the lookout for a form to submit your final response. The first 100 correct responses will receive a “LAK❤️TA” friendship bracelet.

Wednesday, Feb. 19

Close to the high school where Thunderhawks fly,
An orange sign catches the eye.
So fresh and so clean,
You'll find the rock with a letter and heart that's waiting to be seen.

Thursday, Feb. 20

Where stories live and knowledge grows,
Find the place where silence flows.
Seek the place where books align,
The rock with a letter and heart is yours to find. 
 

Friday, Feb. 21

Where decisions shape the future bright,
And student success is always in sight.
In the admin's realm, look around,

Saturday, Feb. 22

In a donut shop that's hard to beat.
Fifty years of flavor, a local pride,

Monday, Feb. 24

In a mall with stores both inside and out,
A rock with a letter and heart can be found, no doubt.
Seek healthy treats where fruits are the goal,
And remember, it's outside, and served in a bowl.

Tuesday, Feb. 25

In a building with a modern face.
Across from worship, beside a meal,

Wednesday, Feb. 26
